Un module d\u2019un graphe G=(V,E) est un ensemble de sommets M inclut dans V tel que tous les voisins de M ont les m\u00eames voisins dans V &#8211; M. On peut dire que tous les sommets de M sont per\u00e7us comme un seul par l\u2019ensemble des sommets de V &#8211; M.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Appliqu\u00e9e \u00e0 un r\u00e9seau m\u00e9tabolique, cette d\u00e9composition permettrai de trouver les unit\u00e9s fonctionnelles qui compose le r\u00e9seau. Ces unit\u00e9s sont des entit\u00e9s semi-autonomes qui pr\u00e9sentent des connections fonctionnelles denses avec les autres unit\u00e9s et plus l\u00e2ches avec l\u2019environnement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">L\u2019article de Julien Gagneur \u2018Modular decomposition of protein-protein interaction networks\u2019 (2004) illustre cette application.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Les travaux auxquels j\u2019ai particip\u00e9 avec avec Mme Irena Rusu (PU) et M.
